Samsung will most likely unveil the Galaxy Buds Pro with the S21 series this year. Though the official specifications are not yet out, the leaks have given us a lot on the design, features, and price for the Galaxy Buds Pro. Read on for a detailed comparison between the Galaxy Buds Pro and the existing Galaxy Buds Plus.

Galaxy Buds Pro vs Galaxy Buds Plus – Design

In terms of dimensions, not much changes between the Galaxy Buds Pro and Galaxy Buds Plus are expected. However, based on a recent leaked image of the Galaxy Buds Pro in violet colour, it has a more glossy, rounded and premium design than the Galaxy Buds Plus.

Like the Galaxy Buds Plus, it will retain the in-the-ear design with customisable earbuds. The Galaxy Buds Pro design, however, is completely different from the kidney bean shaped design of the Galaxy Buds Live.

Galaxy Buds Pro is expected to debut in three colours of black, white, and silver, with other colour options to follow later.

Galaxy Buds Pro vs Galaxy Buds Plus – Specs

Being a ‘pro’ version, the Galaxy Buds Pro will carry advanced features, and will sit above the Galaxy Buds Plus and Galaxy Buds Live in terms of specifications.

Based on the leaks, the Galaxy Buds Pro will feature Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which the company is calling as Intelligent Active Noise Cancelling. Galaxy Buds Plus does not have active noise cancellation and uses the combination of its 3 microphones for reducing external noise.

Galaxy Buds Pro will come with features such as Spatial Audio, and three modes – conversation mode, ambient sound mode, and active noise cancellation mode. ANC and other pro level features will provide a better listening experience with the Galaxy Buds Pro than what you get with the Galaxy Buds Plus.

As against the Galaxy Buds Plus that has an IPX2 water resistance, the Galaxy Buds Pro will have an IPX7 water resistance. Galaxy Buds Pro will also feature Bixby based voice assist which is currently not available in the Galaxy Buds Plus.

Galaxy Buds Pro is expected to provide 8 hours of playback and 4 hours of talk time with the earbuds alone, and 28 hours of playback and 15 hours of talk time with the charging case. The Galaxy Buds Plus, on the other hand provides 11 hours of playback and 7.5 hours of talk time with the earbuds alone, and 22 hours of playback and 15 hours of talk time with the charging case.

Slightly reduced playback/talk time in the Galaxy Buds Pro (with the earbuds alone) could be attributed to the presence of Active Noise Cancellation, and other advanced audio features that it carries. Also, the increased playback and talk time hints towards a bigger or a more optimised battery in the charging case.

Like the Galaxy Buds Plus, the Galaxy Buds Pro will carry a 2-way speaker, 3-mics along with fast wireless charging.

Galaxy Buds Pro vs Galaxy Buds Plus – Price

Galaxy Buds Pro will carry a higher price tag than both the Galaxy Buds Plus, and the Galaxy Buds Live. The Galaxy Buds Pro is expected to hit the market with a price tag of $199, which is much higher than the listed price of Galaxy Buds Plus at $149.99 and the Galaxy Buds Live at a $169.99

Both the Galaxy Buds Plus and Galaxy Buds Live are available in Amazon at much lower price tags. There are also chances that the price for the Plus and Live variants could further go down with the release of the Galaxy Buds Pro.

This particular price tag will put the Galaxy Buds Pro in direct competition with upcoming AirPods 3, which is also expected to be priced close to $199.

Galaxy Buds Pro vs Galaxy Buds Plus – Which One Should You Buy?

Based on the specs, design and price, the Galaxy Buds Pro is the best choice for audiophiles. At a $199 price tag, it does carry Active Noise Cancellation, and other pro features that greatly enhance listening and calling experience.
