To quote his words,” Major Credit to AC Propulsion for the tzero electric sports car 1997-2003 that inspired Tesla Roadster. Without that, Tesla wouldn’t exist or would have started much later.” This connection between the Tesla Roadster and Tzero comes as a major surprise to the Tesla fans as they are eagerly waiting for the release of the all-electric sports car, the Tesla Roadster.

For those of you who are not familiar with the tzero electric sports car, it was two-seater coupe electric car from the company AC Propulsion. It was built on the AC Propulsion AC 150 Platform and hosted rear-mid engine coupled with a rear wheel drive.

The tzero had a brief lifespan starting from its launch in 1997 to its shutdown in 2003. Though there were serious initial discussions on commercializing the zero, the same were eventually dropped owing to his high production costs. Only three working prototypes were built between 1997 and 2003.

The Tesla Roadster is an electric powered supercar from Tesla, expected to be released by 2020. It is currently one of the most awaited cars from Tesla.

Designed strictly to be of pure sports breed, the car can host four passengers and packs a lot of power under the hood. Tesla had already mentioned that the Roadster will be quicker any other sports cars in the market with the ability to go from 0 to 97 (97km/hr) in just 1.9 seconds. Now, that is some power. It is also expected to come with a triple motor and all-wheel drive configuration.
